Ross "The Boss" Friedman, a guitarist who co-founded proto-punk band The Dictators in 1973 and later played with heavy metal group Manowar, died at age 72. Friedman's death came weeks after a fundraising campaign was launched to support his medical care following an ALS diagnosis.
