Astronomers have completed a five-year survey using the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) to create the largest three-dimensional map of the universe, cataloging more than 47 million galaxies and cosmic objects. The map contains six times as many objects as all previous measurements combined and may help resolve mysteries about dark energy, with definitive results expected in 2027.
