The National Park Service has welcomed five new sled dog puppies born in Denali National Park & Preserve in March, continuing a century-old tradition of using dogs to traverse Alaska's harsh winters. The puppies, named after U.S. national parks, will be trained to help rangers with trail marking, supply hauling, and research assistance alongside the park's existing team of more than 30 sled dogs.
